Autumn Ways

(an in-person, outdoor mini-retreat)

Sunday, October 17, 2021

9:00 am - noon

High Park, Toronto, Ontario

free of charge

Autumn is a season of contrasts and transitions. October days of bright, glorious colour and clear pure light fade into the bare, quiet hours and growing dark of November.

We invite you to join us and contemplate what wisdom and comfort the season offers in this time of uncertainty.

Join us for:

  • Guided meditation
  • Simple text to invite reflection
  • An opportunity to walk the labyrinth in a beautiful outdoor setting

All retreat work is invitational and participants determine their level of participation.

The Setting

High Park is situated upon the traditional territories of the Wendat, Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe and the Mississaugas of the Credit. For over 10,000 years Indigenous peoples have lived in this area and we recognize the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples on this land.

High Park is located within “Dish With One Spoon” Territory. The “Dish with One Spoon” is a Wampum Belt Covenant between the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas to share and protect this land together by using only one spoon to eat from the Dish and ensuring the Dish is never empty. When we are in High Park, we are all part of this agreement and are also responsible for respectfully sharing and caring for this land and the animals who live here.
